1.More easing of restrictions in Big Tech? China has pledged to green light more technology deals. (South China Morning Post)

2. More transparency on Chinese social media. Several major Chinese social media platforms, such as Weibo and Douyin, began to test displaying the names of MCNs responsible for content production on influencer accounts’ profile pages. (Technode)

3.  China leads in computing power rank? China’s computing power is expected to exceed that of the U.S. in 1 or 2 years. This will give China an edge to build up its digital economy and inject new vitality into the high-quality development of its sprawling industries. (China Daily)

4. Tech empowers China’s innovation culture. New cultural formats in Beijing, such as digital publishing, and the manufacturing sector of wearable intelligent cultural devices, achieved a total revenue of over 1 trillion yuan (about 148.3 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021, an increase of 22.6% YoY. 5. Hainan begins construction of independent customs operations. Hainan will finish building all the necessary infrastructure for independent customs operations by 2023, and will realise independent customs operations throughout the whole island by the end of 2025. (Shine)

6. Chinese companies flocking to Switzerland? Chinese companies looking to raise cash overseas have turned to Switzerland — and gotten speedy regulatory approval to do so. More than 10 Chinese-listed companies plan to offer shares in Switzerland as a result of a new stock connect program. (CNBC)

7. New packrafting fad in China. ‘Packrafting’ has even garnered nearly 600,000 views on Xiaohongshu. (Dao Insights)

8. Robotrucks in China? Autonomous vehicle company, Pony AI is forming a strategic joint venture with Sany Heavy Truck, a subsidiary of Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Sany Heavy Industry, to create and deploy autonomous trucks. (Tech Church)
